The Open University and Borders College

1 March 2010

The Open University in Scotland has launched a new online resource for college students and staff.

The College Routes website provides a hub of information and advice for anyone interested in moving on to an Open University degree after college. It offers detailed information on what courses are available; suggests sample routes from some of the most popular college qualifications; explains how transferring credit from college qualifications works; and provides practical advice on areas like costs and financial support. A range of student and employer case studies give first‑hand experiences of how a degree can help improve career prospects and offer real benefits to businesses.

The website ‑ http://www.openuniversity.co.uk/collegeroutes ‑ is the latest in a package of resources developed by The Open University specifically for college students.

The Open University is engaged in an extensive partnership programme with Scottish colleges, developing specific pathways from college courses to OU degree programmes. This gives current and former college students access to the OU's entire range of nearly 600 courses. From this they have the option of working towards a degree in a specific subject area, or of tailoring a degree profile to suit their individual interests.

If you have queries or would like to discuss opportunities for further study with the OU then please feel free to get in touch.
